  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in repair and maintenance of railroad cars in freight yard, and workers engaged in inspecting incoming and outbound freight cars for malfunctions.
  • Inspect railroad cars and review worksheet to determine type and priority of repairs to be performed on cars, such as replacing handholds, couplers, or wheels.
  • Mark side of car, using chalk, to inform workers of work to be performed, such as type of repair, servicing, or inspection.
