Plasterer
- Construct, repair or demolish concrete bases, walls, floors, chimneys, sidewalks, and roadways by using electric rotary hammers, air hammers, masonry saws, and other hand and power tools of the trade.
- Install, repair, and replace ceilings, tiles, floor tiles, and exterior roofing.
- Prepare surface with hand and power sanders and buffers before spreading paste on surface.
- Set tile floors and walls after spreading surface with materials such as cement grout and paste; use terrazzo machines for the application and polishing of terrazzo.
- Lay cement bricks and blocks for interior and exterior walls.
- Install, finishes, and patches holes in drywall.
- Prepare and mix materials for the work according to specifications, such as mortar, paste, cement, and slacking lime, using hand and power mixers.
- Estimate time and materials.
- Apply first coat or finish coat of plaster using plastering devices such as trawls, also patch plaster breaks and cracks.
- Maintain equipment and tools used, such as mortar mixers, masonry saws, tuck pointers, grinders and electric hammers.
- Perform masonry restoration and reproduction work on historic buildings.
- Perform various kinds of carpentry work.
