- Properly clean, sanitize, and set up kennels and cages.
- Feed impounded animals according to their species, age, and weight on a daily basis.
- Monitor animals' temperaments for adoptability.
- Assess condition of animals' health and notify Shelter Manager of sickness and injuries in impounded animals.
- Give medication and vaccinations to animals as needed.
- Assist in the euthanasia process by identifying animals for euthanasia, removing animals from cages, and placing them in the chamber cages.
- Restrain animals for euthanasia by injection.
- Scan, tag, and place animals that are brought into the shelter from the public in appropriate cages/kennels.
- Assist Animal Control Officers in unloading animals from their trucks.
