    Exhibit Designer
    • As part of an in-house exhibit development team, work closely with curators and others to conceive, design and develop museum exhibits.
    • Prepare sketches, floor plans, layout drawings, scale models, construction drawings, and specifications of exhibitions and exhibition components for review, fabrication, installation, fundraising, and public relations purposes.
    • Work with curators, guest curators and the Assistant Director for Public Programs to propose design modifications, determine methods and materials to best complete the job, develop time and cost estimates, and organize and track work flow.
    • Create illustrations, paintings, and graphic presentations of scientific information for exhibitions, publications and signage.
    • Work with the Construction Shop to evaluate and maintain the condition and appearance of existing exhibits.
    • Work with the Preparator to design and plan mounts or supports for specimens and artifacts for new exhibits or to improve existing ones, to develop or revise and repair existing dioramas, and to devise other installation elements involving painting, illustration, casting, and the like.
    • Work with the Construction Shop, Preparator, Collection Managers, and others participating in the installation of exhibits to insure that each installation reflects the intentions of the curator and the Exhibits Committee, and others involved the exhibit's development to maintain the aesthetic and quality standards of the City Museum.
    • Assist in the installation and dismantling of exhibits.
    • Work with the Graphic Designer to devise the graphic look of individual exhibitions and associated publicity and other materials; provide specifications for graphics for exhibitions and assists in overseeing the production and installation of exhibition graphics.
    • Work with the Graphic Designer to train and oversee students, casual staff, interns and volunteers.
