Auction Assistant
  • Assist Auctioneer at auction by tagging and arranging articles for sale, calling out lot and item numbers, and holding or displaying articles being auctioned.
  • Receive and store incoming merchandise to be auctioned.
  • Write assigned record numbers on tags and wire tags to articles.
  • Arrange articles into group lots, according to similarity of type of merchandise, such as household goods, art objects, jewelry, and furniture.
  • Assign lot and item numbers to grouped articles and record numbers on tags and in record book.
  • Call out lot and item numbers of article being auctioned and hold or display article during bidding.
  • Assist final bidders in locating purchased items
  • Assist committee chairs with various Auction activities, deadlines, correspondence, and protocol.
