Attendance Clerk
  • Compile attendance records for school district, issue attendance permits, and answer inquiries.
  • Obtain district attendance figures from each school daily, using telephone.
  • Record figures by grade level and for special classes, such as mentally retarded or gifted, in workbook.
  • Total figures, using calculator.
  • Collate data and prepare standard state reports, using typewriter.
  • Compute average daily attendance figures and forward to state for compensation and to school cafeteria for meal planning.
  • Interview applicants for interdistrict attendance permits to attend elementary and secondary schools in district and issue permits, if requirements are met.
  • Send copy of permit to applicable school and retain file copy.
  • Maintain file of interdistrict attendance agreements, bills outside districts for attendance within district, and notify supervisor of agreement expirations.
