Sample Photojournalist Cover Letter

When writing a photojournalist cover letter be sure the hiring manager knows you understand the responsibilities of the job: to photograph individuals or newsworthy events, using still cameras, color or black-and-white film, and various photographic accessories. Training and experience are preferred so if you have them be sure to include this information in all of your photojournalist cover letters.

Mr. Hal O'Connor,
Hiring Manager
The Prairie Herald

Any Town, USA 78956

Dear Mr. O'Connor:

I noticed on JobBankUSA.com this week a listing for a position open with your newspaper for a photojournalist. I was glad to see it as I am looking for full-time employment in this line of work. I'm a graduate of The Brady Institute of Photography and have received several awards for my color and black-and-white photographs covering important news events.

I'd be happy to meet with you in person if you'd like to see samples of my work and for me to hear more about what you look for in the photojournalists you employ.

If you are available and willing, please call me on my cell phone: 785-897-3434 to set up an interview. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for taking time to review my cover letter and enclosed resume.

Sincerely,

Ralph Cruz
