The Dictionary of Occupational Titles (D.O.T.) is prepared by the U. S. Employment Service, Employment and Training Administration (ETA), U.S. Department of Labor.

The latest version of the D.O.T. is the Revised Fourth Edition (1991). It is available for $50 from the Superintendent of Documents, U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, DC 20402. Phone (202) 512-1800. Specify GPO Stock No. 029-013-00094-2 when ordering.

The Occupational Information Network (O*NET) is being developed by ETA as the new, automated replacement for the D.O.T.. When it is completed, it will provide a comprehensive database that identifies and describes important information about occupations, worker skills, and training requirements.
