The North Shore Workforce Investment Board and the Essex County Community Foundation announce the release of a request for proposals for their F1RSTJOBS Initiative. F1RSTJOBS is a summer employment initiative for teens on the North Shore, supported by contributions from business and private philanthropies.

Public and nonprofit public organizations interested in having teens work at their organizations are encouraged to review the request for proposal, through which they may receive funding for wages paid to teens.

Public agencies of local or state government and nonprofit organizations interested in providing quality summer employment opportunities for North Shore teens are eligible to apply. Nonprofit organizations must be recognized as tax exempt under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Organizations with a pending application for 501 (c) (3) status, and new or informal groups with a qualified fiscal sponsor, are also eligible.

The F1RSTJOBS RFP is on the North Shore Workforce Investment Board's Web site, northshorewib.com. For information, call David McDonald at 978-741-3805.
