Job Description

Come join a leader in the Travel Industry! American Express is looking for an experienced Training Specialist to provide ongoing training to our World Class Travel Professionals. This position is responsible for the design and facilitation of technical and customer sales &service training solutions that enable travel staff to develop &build upon the skills and knowledge that drive consultative sales &service behaviors. Specifically, this position will support program implementation for New Hire Training for 'Work at Home' locations as well as Certification, Compliance and key initiative training for all of Service Delivery.

Responsibilities include: establishing a climate for learning, presenting information clearly, responding to trainees concerns and providing ways for trainees to evaluate their own progress toward achieving optimal performance. The position requires the individual to be thoroughly familiar with course content, utilize subject matter expertise to model preferred behaviors; assess and communicate developmental opportunities to the leadership team; document and participate in best practices across the Service Delivery network.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate must have:
- Superior coaching and development skills
- Proven Leadership experience
- Excellent written and presentation skills.
- Strong planning, organization, problem solving and time management skills
- Basic Project Management skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision

Required training knowledge areas include:
- Training Facilitation to Adult Audiences
- Training Evaluation
- Basic Instructional Design
- Experience creating &delivering non-traditional and/or distance training programs a strong plus

Business knowledge requirements:
- Amex CTN Policy and Procedure
- Extensive Travel Industry Background with Strong SABRE skills
- Call Center Travel Counselor or Leader experience
- Required software skills include: Sabre, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel.

Preferred location for these positions will be in the existing Consumer Travel Work at Home markets of Austin, Dallas or Houston TX. Secondary consideration given to CTN Call Centers in Phoenix AZ, Salt Lake City UT, Norcross, GA, Jacksonville, FL, or Miramar, FL.

Candidate must be available to travel for 3-4 weeks at a time to deliver classroom training at alternate locations.

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
