Sales Engineer Microwave Synthesis and Sample Preparation
Company has an immediate opportunity available for a Sales Engineer in
California. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for direct sales of
microwave products and services to customers in Western US and Canada.
Primary responsibilities include both the effective management of existing
customer accounts and the generation of new accounts through lead follow up
and direct sales of laboratory instrumentation used for sample preparation
in analytical chemistry and for microwave assisted organic synthesis.
Customers include a wide range of industries and applications including drug
discovery, biotechnology, materials manufacture, environmental, defense, and
government and academic laboratories.
The Sales Engineer also visits customer sites on a regular basis to give
sales presentations, perform instrument demonstrations and train customers
on the correct use of their equipment.
The successful candidate must have strong written and oral communication
skills and must also be capable of communicating equally well with
Ph.D.-level scientists and bench chemists. The ability to work
independently and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction are essential
for success. Frequent overnight travel is required.
The preferred candidate will possess a B.S. degree in chemistry, or similar
field and at least 5 years of experience in technical sales and/or use of
analytical instrumentation; prior microwave instrument sales experience is a
plus.

Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota,
Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and the Canadian provinces,
Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
