MySQL, the developer of the world's most popular open source database, is looking for a Senior/Lead System QA Engineer to join a growing team of professionals. The ideal candidate must have engineering management experience, and been hands-on working with system benchmarking and/or QA duties.

Responsibilities:
o Act as line mgr for 4+ engineers and lead the MySQL System QA Team, which has the purpose to
- Define, implement, execute, and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functionality related to testing the MySQL Server
- Run internal MySQL and industry-standard benchmarks on MySQLproducts across a range of hardware and systems
- Develop and execute functional system tests using SQL, C/C++ and/or scripting languages
- Develop and execute load, stress, volume, and longevity tests
- Measure scalability, stability, and fault tolerance
- Investigate, document and communicate test results
- Develop and maintain automated tests and test framework *
Qualifications:
o Hands-on Software Quality Assurance and Performance Testing experience
o Experience in performance investigation of distributed systems
o 3+ years experience in engineering management
o Ability to manage people remotely
o BS in Computer Science (or equivalent degree)
o Strong background in database technologies and previous experience in maintaining/administrating and/or testing DBMS systems (MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2 and others)
o Strong background in SQL (experience developing applications using complex SQL structures), scripting languages (Perl / Shell) and implementing of test automation frameworks
o Ability to define, create, document and verify testing methods and results
o Background in QA methodologies and experience developing and executing comprehensive test suites for Databases
o Strong knowledge of computer operating systems (Windows, Linux/UNIX variants) with in-depth experience in testing and tuning software on these platforms
o Experience of longevity, concurrency, stress, volume, and integration testing
o Experience with load generation utilities, scripting languages, and C++/Java/JSP
o Strong knowledge in Database concepts
o Experience using UNIX/GNU tools (such as sed, grep, diff etc.)
o Ability to work independently and remotely with limited supervision
o Fluent written and spoken English
o Desired:
- Experience in C/C++
- Experience administering MySQL or other databases
- Experience with open source development tools and environments
