Description
The Sales Engineer is responsible for 100% ownership of assigned OEM s and End User account base and new account acquisition supporting existing company business and achieving 100% quota while working towards companys profitability and top line growth stretch goals.
This geography covers the state of Oklahoma and parts of Western Arkansas. Candidate will work from a home office. 20% on the road sales related travel, with about 4 to 5 overnight trips a month.
BS Industrial Technologies/Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial Distribution or related field along with 3-7 years outside technical sales; Power Transmission industry experience preferred. In addition, this position deals heavily with customers within the oil &gas, cement, aggregate, and food &beverage industries. Therefore, prior sales experience within these industries is preferred.
Must maintain contact with OEMs, Industry Trade Organizations and End Users
Strong technical / Mechanical aptitude, communication, attention to detail, interpersonal and time management skills required along with computer skills including spreadsheet applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
Key Responsibilities include:
Act as an advocate for customer base providing flawless communication between customer base and company Business Units.
Expectation of customers captured and understood by Business Units.
Educate and train all customers on the features and benefits of company products.
Grow company market share with price not being the issue.
Relied upon by customers as technically proficient contact point for account.
Successfully respond to ongoing questions and make it easy to do business with the company.
Be technically proficient in the knowledge and application of all company products in served markets.
Sell company Packaged Solutions.
Successfully complete Sales Engineering school training in all applicable products.
Provide support to trade shows and distributor open houses.
Participation results in growth in market share, visibility of product in market, and education of customers
Must have the technical ability and sales finesse to package company branded product PT solutions winning on value added, lowest cost of ownership proposal vs. low price.
Low price competition from a variety manufactures and channels is always an issue.
Developing a close relationship with channel partners (distributors) increase Point Of Sale and company market share.
Time management, follow-up and future planning skills are critical.
