Remote (work from home) Oracle DBA W-2 Contract/No Corp-to-Corp.
Strong RAC skills are required. Experienced Oracle DBA primarily providing on-going database administration support for Pfizer Oracle RDBMS based systems, including database strategic planning, database architectural design and implementation, technical consultation. performance tuning, problem diagnostics, and trouble-shoot. It also involves support of time sensitive projects and large size and complex system projects. Responsibilities include all general database administrative works, such as:
a). Oracle software installation, upgrade, patch on all Oracle versions, upto 10G, and on all operating platforms, including SUN (Solaris and x86, Sparc), AIX, HP, Linux, VM, and Win
b). Unix administration works, including disk system implementation design and management
c). Database creation and migration
d). Database capacity planning
e). Database objects creation and maintenance
f). Database backup and recovery
g). Database problem diagnostics and resolution
h). Database monitoring script writing
i). Managing large databases on a daily basis (> 5 terabyte)
j). Annual DRT exercise
k). Experiences and knowledge of RMAN, Data Guard, and Oracle RAC (9i and 10G) systems
l). Experiences and knowledge of Oracle OEM/GRID Control
m). Backup other DBA's workload as required
n). Database operational documentation for new databases productionization
o). DBA on-call support rotations
p). Work independently and as well working extremely well with other DBA's on the team and customer on a daily basis
q). Multi-tasking ability
r). Provided database technical consultation to other accounts and teams
s). Technical mentoring to other team members, account management team, and customer application support teams
t). Effective communication skills with other DBA's, Project manager, and customer on technical issues and resolutions
u). Provide assistance to other DBA team members
v). Motivated and service oriented
w). Follow established technical standards in regard of database environment creation and maintenance
x). Veritas Cluster Server experience preferred.
