Job Purpose
The Category Manager s primary role is to apply knowledge of category best practices and consumer insights against the objectives, strategies and opportunities of the assigned business through fact-based, objective recommendations that supports achievement of organizational goals.
Major Accountabilities
Provide fact based objective insights designed to support sales organization in achieving objectives
Manage category and new item review process to insure item distribution, shelving and pricing objectives are achieved
Where appropriate, manage the retailer specific category captaincy relationships and corresponding shelf management
Develop comprehensive knowledge of customer, consumer and NCH objectives/strategies and insights and utilize best practice approach with the retailer
Provide ongoing assessment of assigned Business KPIs and provide tracking to assess account performance and opportunities for improvement.
Continually develop in-depth knowledge of competitive activity and opportunities to counter
Key Performance Indicators
Is able to lead the team s analytics process to successfully interpret business issues and develop fact based recommendations that lead to an executable plan
Can apply knowledge of category/consumer insights and best practices to create solutions to satisfy both NCH and account strategies and objectives
Demonstrates ability to create well developed action plans that capitalize on identified areas of opportunities through strong analytics knowledge
Perceived as invaluable resource and fact based, objective partner in performing category captain responsibilities by the retailer. Manages development of shelf recommendations through strong category understanding and unquestionable integrity.
Has well developed capabilities in sharing key insights and best practices with assorted team members and fellow category management personnel to improve total organizational effectiveness.

Background
Education :
Minimum: Bachelor s Degree
Experience:
5 years consumer package goods industry experience with at least 2 years in analytical experience and at least 2 years in account/market business management
Advanced skills in the use of syndicated data software and measures, consumer measures, space management software
Excellent analytical and presentation skills
Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
