Working from a home office the ideal candidate will be based in the northeastern region of the territory with a technical degree, and although may be junior in experience should be very motivated to further develop his/her sales experience.
The individual in this role will represent the FMC BioPolymer Food Ingredients business, covering the eastern region from Boston to Atlanta and will sell a full range of food ingredient products with a large number of applications working with an established foundation of existing customers. In this role your technical expertise will be utilized to partner with customers for new product launches In addition you will relay relevant customer information, trends, potential opportunities, etc. to management for use strategically in planning strategy and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES Field Sales Territory Management • Achieve/Exceed objectives for sales and profitability • Prioritized and write strategies to market existing customers to gain market share • Customer relationships are developed, achieving account penetration with purchasing, R&D, technical managers, decision makers and management • Aggressively and creatively identify and pursue new business opportunities at key accounts • Utilize strong contract negotiation skills • Develops in depth knowledge about customer history, organization relationships, manufacturing capabilities, competitive issues, potential opportunities, etc. and transfers this knowledge to the organization for use in business maintenance and growth • Assures customer exposures to various functions within FMC are positive and productive for both the customer and BioPolymer • Successfully works with individuals across all levels of the organization Technical Support • Utilizes up to date knowledge about all products, current and potential applications to support customer needs • Relationships and communications with R&D and technical organization optimize value to customer • Provides customer training and education when necessary, to support customer use of products and/or development of new products Communication • Assembles call reports that provide useful information and are submitted within agreed timeframes • Enables management and other relevant functions and employees to understand markets, problems, needs, and competitive developments in order to effectively support customer needs and plan strategies and objectives • Has a high level of communication skills and disseminates information to customers or internally to FMC in a very effective manner. Budgetary and Administrative Responsibilities• Provides accurate sales forecasts and participates in annual budget preparation • Effectively uses promotional materials, advertising, entertainment, technical resources and other resources to optimize return on dollars and time spent
Requirements REQUIREMENTS Skills • 1-3 minimum years field sales or technical service experience in Food Ingredients or related industry • Proven track record of sales growth or developing of new accounts • Demonstrated ability to write and present clear, organized and informative business communications and presentations • Ability to work from home office • Requires overnight travel 35-50% based on location.
