This is a virtual career (work from home) and can be based anywhere in the DFW Metroplex or Houston.
Positions in this function are responsible for: direction and guidance on clinical quality improvement and management programs including coordination of medical services; clinical quality studies; adherence to NCQA requirements; reporting and analysis of member care quality and for the development of plans and programs to support continuous quality improvement using tools; resolution of coordination of care issues; multiple quality improvement projects involving clinical studies, disease management practices, performance improvement goals and utilization reviews. Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed. Works with less structured, more complex issues. Serves as a resource to others. Position works closely with medical directors, clinical service coordinators and other experts to collect and analyze data, perform trend analyses, and identify quality improvement opportunities. Completes reports and presents statistical analyses and findings to provider and consumer advisory committees. Researches best practices to impact quality improvement initiatives and utilization standards to monitor disease management practices. Requires interpersonal communication, group facilitation, project coordination/management and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications .
RN or MSW preferred, with at least 5 years of experience and 5 years managed care experience; 2 years of experience working with clients in a case manager/counseling/care coordinator role; In depth knowledge of care coordination and the managed care industry; Knowledge of clinical guidelines. Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and tools, statistical methodologies; Experienced in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access); Experienced in Internet use; Competencies: - Resourceful and self starter - Comfortable working in an evolving role - Ability to work well with a wide range of individuals (patients, nurses, physicians, hospital administrative staff and payor staff) - Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities - Ability to problem solve complex issues.
