Position Description
The Account Manager- Public Sector/Education position will be responsible for developing and executing on an aggressive customer acquisition campaign for Higher Education and K-12 accounts. The position has flexibility to be based anywhere in the Mid Atlantic region near a major metropolitan area.
This individual will drive sales in the Public Sector Segment developing, managing and maintaining new account relationships and delivering on aggressive sales objectives. Accounts can be located anywhere in the US and will initially be concentrated in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Washington, D.C. In addition to the sales responsibility this position is responsible for the overall go to market strategy, thought leadership and must be able to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization. An in-depth knowledge of the education markets, especially Higher Education is required.
Exceptional sales skills with a strong sales operations skills set and the ability to form and develop high level relationships with public sector officials as well as University Presidents, Provosts and CIOs is also required.
Position Requirements
-5 to 7 year’s professional sales in a high tech industry required. PC industry experience highly preferred.
-Successful track record selling to Higher Ed segment is required.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Strong territory management skills
-Strong business acumen
