"ABOUT THE COMPANY:
Our client is an international non-profit dedicated to improving lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly diversified program of research, education, and services in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health, and infectious diseases.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position will play a critical role in developing and overseeing implementation of the organizations overall partnerships, alliances, business development, business planning, and fundraising strategies. Leading a team of Senior and Associate External Relations Officers, the Director will build on current activities in this area, with a focus on the following:
Overseeing the development and facilitating the implementation of the organizations global business plan
Establishing, maintaining and enhancing the organizations partnerships and alliances with a variety of entities and individuals including funders, private sector companies, individuals and others who are aligned with the organizations mission and vision
Establishing and overseeing organizational fundraising strategy
Working closely with the Marketing and Communication team to ensure harmonized implementation of the External Relations Operational Plan.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Strong relationship-building and people-development skills, with an ability to build relationships at all levels
Strategic and analytical, with strong problem solving skills
Prior experience with or in the private sector, with sensitivity towards the private sector application to international development
Minimum of 10 yrs of related work experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in marketing and communications with at least 5 years supervisory experience
Graduate level degree (MBA, MPA) or equivalent preferred.
