Thriving startup in a fun and fast-paced industry is currently in the market for a Systems Administrator to manage their UNIX server farm (which is Linux-based). If you understand the complexities a e-commerce, ASP-based hosted solution, have a good understanding of database issues AND you enjoy what you do, call PEI today to learn more!
REQUIRED:
* 5 years of experience managing UNIX-based Systems
* 3 years of hands-on experience with Linux (Red Hat preferred)
* Highly skilled in Bash / Shell scripting in Linux
* 3 years of experience working with Cisco network equipment
* Experience working in 24x7x365 mission-critical environments
* Exposure to FibreChannel SANS
* Exposure to OLTP database environments
* Strong understanding of back-up systems
* Excellent proactive communication skills
* Strong customer service when addressing reliability
* Able to thrive in a multi-priority environment
* Familiar with ASA firewalls and IOS programming
* Experience working with clustered applications
* Experience with complex load-balancing
DESIRED:
* Python Scripting
* Significant experience in e-commerce or B2C/B2B
* ASP, on-demand software or SaaS
* Windows 2003
* Postgres DBA experience
* Oracle DBA experience
* SNMP-based monitoring tools
Ideally, this position will be a direct, full-time hire but candidates opting for contract to hire may be considered. Location will be between Sacramento (where the hosted data center is) and Napa (where the development shop is); candidates can work from home likely one day a week, and split their time between these locations with flexible hours. Ideal home-based locations include Davis, Vacaville, Fairfield or Dixon.
