At The Hartford, our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay competitive base salaries and we reward performance. First year earning potential up to $33,000+. Earning potential after the first year is $50,000+. We offer a base salary plus a monthly incentive program. In addition, you will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits program including medical and dental insurance (eligibility begins on the first day of employment), a 401K plan, and employee Stock Purchase Plan. WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION? This position resides within the call center and operates in a team-based environment. Inside Sales Agent responsibilities include: Taking inbound phone calls from AARP members requesting insurance to meet their homeowner and automobile insurance needs. Provide quotations and counseling on insurance coverages. Applying and adhering to appropriate underwriting guidelines to determine customer eligibility and utilizing a professional sales model. Candidates will demonstrate an expertise in cross-selling products and services as they relate to customer needs. Works within established, measurable, call center metrics. During our paid training program, you must successfully complete training and pass the Pennsylvania Property & Casualty licensing exam.
Qualifications WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are looking for professionals with retail, call center, inside/outside sales, customer service, insurance, claims or agency experience preferred. Qualifications include: High school diploma or equivalent required /college degree preferred. Capability to effectively analyze and assess customer inquires and achieve sales goals. Knowledge of the sales process. Candidate must possess strong computer skills and ability to navigate in a Windows based environment. Typing speed of 25 wpm. Ability to adjust and succeed in a rapidly changing call center environment. Ability to multi-task is critical in this position. Bilingual skills (Spanish and English) a plus - not a requirement.
WHAT ELSE CAN YOU TELL ME? Our contact center offers a pleasant, professional, and engaging work environment and is committed to advancing the careers of our employees through personal and professional development. Our paid training program starts upon day one of employment and prepares you for the position. Training Hours are 9:00am to 5:30 for the first 7 weeks. Then, on-the-job training in our Sales Academy will be from 10:00am to 6:30pm for approximately 9 weeks. Work Hours after Sales Academy will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview process. Possible shift choices could be 10:30am to 7:00pm, 12:30pm to 9:00pm and 2:30pm to 11:00pm. Some shifts pay an additional shift differential. You will also work Saturdays schedules with a day off during the week. Our Allentown, PA location offers an on-site full service cafeteria and access to public transportation. The last bus leaves The Hartford weekdays at 5:55pm.
