EDUCATION The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - Registered Nurse (RN) is required FUNCTIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE - Medical Management: Medical Management - Managed Care/Insurance Clinical Staff REQUIRED SKILLS - Collaborating for Results - Apply state and federal legislation and regulations - Create staffing strategies to support business and financial plans - Develop individual metrics that align to department business plans - Develop strategies to manage medical cost issues - Provide direct feedback around performance DESIRED SKILLS - Analyze healthcare data for trends - Analyze medical cost drivers - Delegate activities to staff members with appropriate authorities and checkpoints - Engaging and Developing People - Identify medical trends and cost saving opportunities - Mentor employees to maximize performance POSITION SUMMARY The successful candidate will direct the daily activities of the Medical Management Department, including utilization review / concurrent review including coordination of discharge planning, prior authorization, case management, for both physical and behavioral health services.
