My client, a plastic packaging manufacturer with injection molded, blow molded and thermoformed products, needs an Account Manager to cover a territory from Maryland to Massachusetts and extending to the Midwest as well. The company�s products are used for packaging food, beverages vitamins and pharmaceuticals. The company is very successful and has been growing. This position will manage several current accounts and a few distributors, but it�s focus is to bring in new business.

The company injection molds with common thermoplastic resins, and it blow molds a variety of resins including HDPE, PP and PET. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will analyze the market to gain an understanding of the current packaging business and the potential for future conversions from glass, metal or other plastics, or taken away from competition. You will write business proposals and present capabilities and proposals to customer organizations. The company develops custom products but also offers stock parts and containers.

My client is looking for an experienced sales person. The successful sales candidate will have a 4-year degree and at least 5 years sales experience selling packaging, preferably plastic bottles. You must be very good at building relationships and communicating, but also analytical and detail oriented to offer solutions and develop proposals. The base salary will range to about $85,000 based on experience and track record, and there is an aggressive bonus plus car allowance plus good benefits and all the tools to do the job. There is also excellent opportunity to move into sales management. You can work from a home office within this territory or perhaps Chicago as well.
