Making client contacts and setting appointment times, meeting with clients, writing and developing proposals, following up client contact with technical information, etc., cooridnation of account set-up with the laboratory that will recive the work, or other Silliker Business Units that will receive work
This is a consultative sales environment (10 other sales people for the company). They are selling food/microbiology testing services to food manufacturers to do label testing/food testing as well as educational training. Most of the sales will be for testing.
Initially have to spend 50 / 50 of time on maintaining account and developing new business with a move toward more new business activity .
Requirements .
work from home opportunity -- Milwuakee/ Madison/ Green Bay, WI --> candidates may be located in any of these areas. Will pay for relocation.
BS in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or other food discipline
Preferred people in Food processing, food retailing, restaurant concepts and food slaughter's. Looking for Technical Directors, QA Managers / Directors, Vice Presidents of Food Safety and Director / Manager's of R&D.
Minimum of 3 years experience in the food processing environment in a QA or R&D role (at least an analyst or lead analyst role), or 3 years experience in a contract food laboratory. Prior sales experience is not a requirement for the position, but will be considered as a plus if the experience involves food processing sales.
The position requires broad knowledge of food safety programs and systems including environmental monitoring, finished product sampling, HACCP, food microbiology (familiarity with methods and current industry testing), food chemistry (familiarity with methods and current industry testing), etc. .
