DESCRIPTION .
Sales Manager for CRO
New Jersey, Chicago, or elsewhere

Sales Manager opportunity at growing and very respected Contract Research Organization with offices on West and East coasts. Can work from home, excellent compensation.

Position Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is the recruitment of new clients/sponsors and their compounds. The secondary purpose is work closely with the Managers, Client Projects to both close new clients business and to acquire new business from existing clients.

Work Schedule: Heavy travel involved as this is a field based position. The office portion of the work is to be done from a home office. This position requires to be on the road >50% of the time. Travel includes visiting potential and existing clients and going to various symposia and conferences as appropriate. Appropriate face-to-face time with clients is important for this position.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The major duties and responsibilities of the Manager, Clients Projects:
1. Be the primary spoke person from company to new clients within assigned geography.
2. Acquire business from new clients.
3. Work in tandem with Managers, Client Projects to acquire new business not only from new accounts but also from existing accounts as appropriate. Also, as the sales process gets closer to contract signing, transfer of all information and involve the Manager, Clients Projects to ensure smooth transfer/integration of new accounts to operations.
4. Issues proposals/quotations to clients. Distribute financial related information to Finance, General Management. Involved in the negotiation of new contracts as appropriate.
5. Actively provides to Marketing information to build the Sales and Marketing data base and support other Marketing activities.
6. Use the Current and Prospects Clients sales development strategy process to acquire new compounds.
7. Issue weekly updates to management. Sales funnel is to be updated no later than 3:00pm PST every Friday s. Transfers sales funnel information for signed contracts to ensure that the Manager, Clients Projects includes that information into the Back Log/Indication projections.
8. Participates in the budgetary process for assigned geography.
9. Supporting Corporate and Division philosophies and goals.
10. Other duties as assigned

Business Environment
This is a for profit business. It is expected that the focus be on the most promising client from a revenue and profit perspective.

Exposure Potential:
Class 2 Employee: No routine exposure to chemical or biohazards during performance of job-specific responsibilities. Exposure may occur during the performance of non-routine tasks.

Scope of Authority and Decision Making:
Makes all routine sales related decisions within company s policies.
Makes business expenses decisions within defined guidelines.
Solicits time with Managers, Clients Projects to help acquire new business.
Consults with General Manager as needed.

Organizational Framework:
Reports to the Director of Sales

Internal and External Relationships:
Internal: Extensive interaction with Managers, Clients Projects, Sales and Management.
External: Constant interactions with clients. .
REQUIREMENTS .
Knowledge and Special Skills:

Education: A minimum of a Bachelor s degree in Sciences. Thorough understanding of preclinical and clinical drug development process, GLP regulations and the contract bioanalytical business as a whole. Management degree highly desirable. Training in various project management and sales techniques is a plus.

Skills: Demonstrated sales skills. Great documentation discipline. Basic financial aptitude. Ability to innovate and resolve sales related problems in a timely fashion.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar sales context. Supervisory experience is desirable.
