DESCRIPTION .
UnitedHealth Group is an innovative leader in the health and well-being industry, serving more than 55 million Americans. Through our family of companies, we contribute outstanding clinical insight with consumer-friendly services and advanced technology to help people achieve optimal health.

United Resource Networks provides specialized solutions for complex medical conditions. For more than a decade United Resource Networks (U.R.N.), a UnitedHealth Group company, has been identifying costly, complex and catastrophic conditions for which there is a quantifiable variance among treatment providers. Our products and services are developed to support safe, successful and cost-effective management of patients with these conditions. Clinical areas for which U.R.N. offers products include transplantation, kidney disease, congenital heart disease, infertility, neonatal nursing and cancer.

We seek an assertive problem-solver with strong clinical knowledge to join our team. Working in a great environment with no nights, weekends or holidays, you would function as a Clinical Consultant serving neonatal patients. You'll have extensive resources at your fingertips and a strong network of support available from your colleagues. After training and orientation have been completed, this position also has the opportunity to telecommute from home as business needs allow.

Primary responsibilities include:

Speaking to responsible parties and gathering diagnosis info, treatment and medical history

Working with patient care providers, families and other related parties

Helping to coordinate care, implementing necessary services and working with both in and outpatient services

Interacting with contract providers and vendors for other care

Identifying cost saving opportunities while providing services

Making decisions to support the treatment plan outlined by the PCP

REQUIREMENTS .

Hospital-based clinical experience in a high-risk neonatal intensive care environment is required. Must have current RN license. Previous case management experience is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must. Some computer proficiency is required.

UnitedHealth Group offers a full range of comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision, as well as a matching 401k and an employee stock purchase plan.

Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V.
