Responsibilities:
- Design and develop server-side Java software to implement new functionality in our product
- Create or contribute to specifications for design and functionality.
- Work with others in the Engineering team to test and document product features and to diagnose and fix field-reported product issues.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years (at least 1 year in Java) hands-on server-side design and development experience in a commercial-product environment.
- Excellent knowledge of distributed computing, multi-threading concepts, algorithm complexity, relational-to-object mapping and XML processing using Java.
- Working knowledge of distributed, redundant and high-throughput architectures.
- Working knowledge of data retrieval and manipulation using SQL and XSLT.
- Working knowledge of networking including security and management.
- Knowledge of data modeling in relational, OO and XML paradigms.
Desired but not Mandatory:
- Experience with redundant master-slave designs utilizing a leasing mechanism.
- Experience with open source Java libraries and server-side frameworks and J2EE.
- Experience with VLDB environment and data quality issues.
- Knowledge of Web Services and SOAP.
- Experience with ClearCase and ANT
