Java Developer to maintain web site which tracks environmental data. This is the distributed national archive center. The site is used by government agencies and the general public to track environmental/ecological data throughout the world. The first project will center around creating a search engine for the data (4 terabytes, 800 data sets) using Lucerne (?) instead of mercury (blue angel). You must be aware of security vulnerabilities and be able to take the appropriate measures. Must have strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. Work from home, on site for first few weeks.
