DESCRIPTION .
Health IT Senior Project Manager 75% Travel - 25% work from home!
High level working knowledge of healthcare environment from either a hospital setting or other healthcare vendor. IS/IT implementation experience.
Position Summary: Directly responsible for managing high complexity implementation projects (10,000+ hours), which may encompass multiple engagements at a single client or multiple product implementation at many clients. Experience leading projects with multiple project managers. Manages resources on individual projects, with responsibility for their professional performance. Manages tasks on on individual projects to successful completion. Manages project metrics for all projects for which he/she has responsibility. Serves as primary escalation point for significant project issues to the Region Manager, PMO. Manages key client relationships, client expectations, and project scope. Manages requests for resource allocations with Resource Managers to staff projects. Works with Sales and Implementation Services to define Statements of Work, labor estimates, and project schedules. Works with Implementation Services to ensure delivery of client services according to quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Mentor Project Managers and provide input to Region Manager, PMO for annual performance evaluations and recommended promotions/terminations.
2. Identify and make available relevant training to Project Managers.
3. Participate in project manager recruitment and hiring within the region and provide input to the Region Manager for assessing project management talent within the region.
4. Prepare weekly project metrics and create executive briefings for all projects for which he/she has responsibility.
5. Identify client issues with Project Managers and Resource Managers; escalate to Region Manager, PMO as necessary. 6. Prepare resource allocation requests.
7. Provide thought leadership for PMO process evolution.
9. Prepare revenue projections for projects for which he/she has responsibility to Bench Managers and Resource Managers.
10. Project manage implementations and take ownership for success and client satisfaction.
11. Assure client satisfaction at projects for which he/she has responsibility.
12. Coordinate activities and provide leadership across division. .
REQUIREMENTS .
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, healthcare, software development, or related field or comparable work experience.
Experience Required: 7+ years managing projects of increasing size and complexity. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Knowledge of Hospital Operations, Clinical Systems a plus.
Skills Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven record of team management. In depth knowledge of project accounting metrics. Proven ability to solve problems in a team oriented environment. Ability to negotiate and compromise in adverse situations to create "win-win" scenarios. 75% travel.
