Job Description .
THIS IS A TWO (2) YEAR TERM POSITION. CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT IN THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON RENEWAL OF TERM.
DTS seeks a highly skilled and innovative Systems Analyst for the Public Safety Data Systems (PSDS) support team to provide advanced systems programming and technical expertise in developing and performing Quality Assurance for the computer systems included in the Public Safety Mobile Data System (PSDS). This is a 24-hour a day, seven-day a week responsibility.
PSDS manages over 30 servers, including multiple database servers. The databases supported include Oracle and Microsoft SQL server on Windows 2000 server and HP Unix platforms. PSDS also interfaces with the County's ESRI GIS system.
Employee will serve as a member of the PSDS Team responsible for developing test methodologies, scenarios, and plans; developing tools for testing and monitoring all PSDS systems including 3rd party applications; conducting tests &performing reviews of system releases and implementations for quality assurance, including the refinement of vendor supplied build release documentation to DTS standards; developing reports and dashboards for system performance tracking; preparing documentation of tools developed and testing performed; and identification of key application monitoring points for automated system monitoring tools. Excellent technical skills are paramount, good oral and written communications skills are also important. .

Bachelor's Degree .
Minimum Qualification Experience/Licensure/Certification .
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible and professional experience in systems analysis. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Position requires ability to lift boxes containing computer support items and equipment such as printers, computers, modems and monitors weighing up to 50 pounds. .

1. Experience in systems programming covering both Unix (HPUX, Linux) and Windows
2. Experience with large databases including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL
3. Experience in scripting and structured tool design. (Perl, etc.)
4. Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for optimizing, integrating and installing information systems components.
5. Experience in project planning, design, implementation and acceptance testing.
6. Experience working on document requirements, user manuals, and system changes.
