Job Description .
THIS IS A TWO (2) YEAR TERM POSITION. CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT IN THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON RENEWAL OF TERM.
DTS seeks a highly skilled and innovative IT Business Analyst for the Public Safety Data Systems (PSDS) support team to work with sponsors and stakeholders to develop a business case on the cost/benefit of the proposed project for presentation to management for review and approval. Duties inxlude: assisting project teams comprised of technical specialists to produce a project plan in accordance with business requirements; preparing, implementing, monitoring, and updating project plans; coordinating with system's owner, users and management to ensure the actions are consistent with the approved plans; identifing customers' information systems requirements; analyzing information systems requirements or environments; designing or conducting analytical studies, cost-benefit analyses, or other research.
PSDS manages over 30 servers, including multiple database servers. The databases supported include Oracle and Microsoft SQL server on Windows 2000 server and HP Unix platforms. PSDS also interfaces with the County's ESRI GIS system.
Employee will serve as a member of the PSDS Team responsible for developing and updating project and action plans; organizing meetings and preparing meeting documentation; coordinate task execution with users and vendors; performing technical and business operation research; and updating project and grant budgets. Excellent technical skills are paramount, good oral and written communications skills are also important. .

Bachelor's Degree .
Minimum Qualification Experience/Licensure/Certification .
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field and four (3) years of progressively responsible and professional experience in IT system and business analysis. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Position requires ability to lift boxes containing computer support items and equipment such as printers, computers, modems and monitors weighing up to 50 pounds. .
