Join the Services Industries Consuting team as a Senior Project Director. Responsible for leading large scale technology project implementations in the Financial Services, Retail, and Telecommunications industries. This a senior client executive position for someone with experience leading large scale software implementations involving Oracle technology, applications, and 3rd party software.
Serve as a Senior Project Director leading large scale implementations of Oracle technology software covering business intelligence, identity management, database architecture, and middleware integration. Typically work Monday through Thursday onsite at client leading an Oracle and client project team. Work directly with client executive management, business leaders, and Information Technology management. Responsible for driving project to successful completion along with maximizing client satisfaction and delivering on project financial metrics (revenue and margin). You will report directly to the Director for Technology Consulting. Work from home on Mondays and/or Fridays depending on client project. Requires 60% client billable utilization target. Other 40% of time is to be used for assisting with business development activities including proposal development, scoping, estimating, and client presentations. Flexible schedule is likely with this senior leadership position. Great experience to be gained from leading these high demand implementations using the latest Oracle Technology (10g, RAC, GRID, Fusion Middleware, Oracle Identity Mgmt, etc.).
Can require up to 100% travel, but the vast majority of projects require 80% travel (4 days per week out of town -- leave Monday AM, and travel back on Thursday afternoon/evening). Flexibility exists for shortening onsite project work to Tuesday AM through Thursday PM wherever possible....Mondays and Fridays would then be work from home.
Create and manage an overall project plan (including budget, structure, schedule, and staffing requirements) for large scale Oracle engagements often a combination of diverse project packaged into a singloe solution. Directs very large strategic bids that may have international or global significance. Monitor and report progress/changes against the plan. Drive implementation by motivating and directing the project team, a team which may include cross functional departments at Oracle, third-party vendors, partners, and the client. Act as primary interface with the client regarding deliverables, changes, and sign-off on status and requirements. Identify and communicate opportunities for new business. May include responsibility for technical development.
Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management requiring negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. 10 years of increasingly complex, more accountable projects managed with commensurate professinal sophisitaction. The prior project management experience required exihbiting the ability to follow solid project management principles. Must be comfortable in matrix management environments and work effectively with others in managing complex projects. Strong people/communication skills to deal with company, customers, and vendors. Techical skills essential. Selling skills required at higher levels. Preferred Qualifications: BS Degree and has or is in the process of obtaining PHI Certification. Willing to travel regionally with some national and/or international travel.
Strong preference for Oracle technology software experience, as well as experience in one or more of the following areas: Business Intelligence, Security/Identity Management, Platform/Database, and Integration/ Custom Development. Experience using Oracle 9i or 10g database technology is highly encouraged.
Several local financial services and retail clients (in San Francisco and Northern California) exist and are potential candidates for the projects that this position would oversee.
