Subject Matter Expert across both Accessibility and Standards technical team and
Standards and Regulatory team.
Accessibility/Standards team: Research/assess the impact of accessibility on new
technologies,(Web 2.0, AJAX, DHTML, other Rich Internet Application techs, etc);
Develop accessibility techniques/examples for new/existing Web technologies;
Consult with product/internal development teams to help them make their Web
content accessible; Lead/participate in technical training sessions for IBM
teams; Maintain web accessibility checklists materials.
Standards/Regulatory: Analyze developing standards ®ulations against
Accessibility &Standards reqs; Assess impacts/make recommendations; Participate
(as needed) in standards committees developing accessibility standards;
Communicate progress &status to all interested IBM parties; Prepare whitepapers,
Major Field of Study: Computer or Information Science
Section 508, W3C WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, HTML Accessibility,
Accessibility validation tools, Communications Skills.
