Position Description .
Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, provides technical support to front line service with solutions to diverse technical problems and applications relating to Facility Management and control systems. Support is provided mainly via phone analysis and remote interrogation. Some onsite analysis may be required. (Approx 5% travel.)
Fully documents customer problems and issues into a call tracking system for feedback and continuous improvement of products and services.
To the extent experience level allows, analyze and troubleshoot application, communications, network, and control system problems and formulate plans to resolve.
Utilize lab environment to setup and duplicate field reported problems.
Flag solutions in the Call Tracking Database that should be submitted for Solutions Database entry.
Access customer systems via network technologies for remote troubleshooting of system problems.
Share knowledge with other support engineers in areas of expertise.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Provide high-level technical support to JCI Employees on all automation products current release and legacy.
Monitor the accuracy and provide feedback on the Solutions Database.
Participate in Beta product testing activities when in proximity to the site.
Interface with local branch management teams regarding technical support issues and effectiveness of JCI products and support.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
Must have the experience and maturity to work without direct supervision.
Minimum 5 years of experience on JCI Products engineering, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting.
Preference is to work in a local JCI office. Will consider work-at-home arrangements based on the applicant’s specific situation and accommodations at home.
