Job description Candidate may reside in any city in the Continental United States. Seeking a software engineer to join the Americas GRT. The primary mission is to provide on-site and remote assistance to clients and the Tivoli Support organization to resolve complex technical issues which are hindering the clients deployment and/or use of Tivoli products. Work with Tivoli Level 2, Level 3, Product Development,and other organizations to plan and implement solutions to resolve client issues and critical situations. Document customer interactions, and as appropriate technical solutions, issues, requirements, assist in identifying root cause of issues. Participate in other department programs as appropriate and required. Travel Required (Some International) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience should include: * Major Field of Study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information *Systems, or Systems Engineering * Expert level knowledge of one or more Tivoli products (5/5) * Knowledge of Maximo (5/5) * TCP/IP networking (5/5) * Programming skills: (at least 1) Perl, Java, C/C++ (3/5) * Knowledge of Security in a distributed environment (3/5) * Directory Services (LDAP, NDS, Active Directory) (4/5) * e-business concepts (4/5) * Websphere, DB2, MQ Series (3/5) * IT operations and/or admin for distributed environments (4/5) * Has provided technical support to IT users in a production environment (4/5) * Has deployed systems management technical solutions (4/5) * Demonstrates sound systematic approach to problem solving (5/5) * Excellent oral, written and presentation skills (4/5) IBM has a total compensation package that is competitive in the IT industry.
