Position Overview:
This
is an advanced-level, technical position that reports directly to one of
the Property/Casualty Unit Claim Managers. This position will
investigate, negotiate and settle large and/or complex fidelity
and property & casualty claims. Provide Credit Unions with superior claims
service, building and solidifying a strong partnership through proactive
professional consultation and delivering optimal solutions to meet their
claim needs. Provide consultation on Credit Union risks and areas for
loss prevention. This position will collaborate with other claims and
product experts to ensure the consistent handling of claims throughout the
division. This position will be accountable for decision-making regarding the
appropriate use of external adjusters and investigators. This
position will also be accountable for ensuring the bondability and
subrogation processes are integrated into the resolution of their
claims. This position will be called upon to back-up the claims functions in the
other Account and Customer Service Teams.
This position will utilize and
participate in the Customer Development Process to collaborate
with the field, loss prevention and underwriting functions to bring all
appropriate CUNA Mutual Group services and products to their assigned
account.
Requirements of Position:
1. Bachelor's
Degree in insurance, business or equivalent trade-off in related
professional work experience. An advanced degree is desirable.
2. Professional designation such as CPCU, AFSB, CFE.
3. 7
years of work experience with extensive knowledge of fidelity and
property & casualty coverage’s and the applicable laws governing the resolution
of claims. The position will be specific to adjudicating Fidelity Bond
Losses.
4. Proven ability to work alone or in a team
setting with adversarial parties in the negotiation and resolution of
complex, sensitive losses using prudent judgment.
5. Excellent
communication, negotiation, organizational and analytical
skills.
6. Extensive travel may be required during disasters and to
service large or complex claims.
7. Ability to participate in the
rotation of a cell phone to provide 24 hour claim service.
