Overview:

Our client, an internationally headquartered company, is a fast growing software solution provider that dynamically assures IT business service levels and optimizes resources. Their software is the leader in Transaction Workload Management and delivers end-to-end visibility and control of a multitude of business transactions (e.g. printing a report, placing an order, sending a query, etc.)  All business transactions are tracked and monitored across all tiers all the time in order to identity and isolate performance problems as they develop and before and users can be affected. 

Position Overview:

Our client is currently seeking a highly motivated, results oriented individual to join their Pre-sales Team as a Sales Engineer (SE).  The individual will work together with sales representatives on the technical aspects of selling our client’s product solutions to enterprise customers and will assure a successful hand-off for implementation. The SE will regularly interface with prospects and customers as with the company’s Support and R&D lab. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leading the technical sale of our client’s product solutions including requirements gathering, solution development, presentations, demonstrations, proof of con-cepts, RFI/RFP responses, competitive differentiation, ROI/TCO studies, and project management of the technical sales process.
Developing solutions using our client product and partner products that integrate with customer’s existing infrastructure to meet their business and technical requirements.
As the primary presales technical interface with t he customer the SE will achieve the technical win during Sales Process.

Essential Education, Experience and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in technical field.
Demonstrated success in software presales consulting role including large sales to Fortune 500 Customers.
Technical knowledge and experience in enterprise-level software solutions. Experience with complex sales to large enterprise customers.
Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to present high level and technical presentations, perform product demos, answer complex technical and competitive questions and address customer concerns.
Strong communications skills
Strong Sales and Negotiation Skills
Resilience and resourcefulness when solving complex problems
Ability to present proposals persuasively
Excellent Team Skills; Wining Attitude
Ability to have a flexible schedule and work from home office, if required.
Travel is required.
Technical Knowledge:
Technical knowledge and experience in Business Transaction Management Solutions and/or Diagnostic’s Solutions such as CA Wily, Compuware Vantage, Symantec i3, HP Diagnostics and Transaction Vision (formerly from Bristol Technologies), IBM’s ITCAM
Ability to understand complex heterogeneous IT system architectures involving software solutions from multiple vendors as well as homegrown code.
Good understanding of software performance fundamentals.
Experience and skills with UNIX (HP-UX, Solaris, AIX), Linux (Redhat, Suse) and Windows operating systems.
Strong knowledge of networking (including understanding of OSI 7 layer model)
Knowledge of J2EE application architecture.  Familiarity with multi-tier web applications, application servers, relational databases, and protocols and standards such as J2EE, HTTP, SSL, XML, JDBC, SQL
Knowledge of packaged applications such as SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle Apps, Siebel, etc. and experience with industry-specific solutions such as Trading Systems, Grid Computing, shared services is preferred.
