THE BEST WAY TO PREDICT YOUR FUTURE IS TO CREATE IT...... Our Client is a large hospital in Austin, TX and is seeking Registered Nurses for its Cath Lab. Department Description: The Cath Lab has 2 procedure rooms and a 10 bed pre and post recovery area. This unit has an outstanding, team oriented WORK environment. In 2007, the cath lab is on track to perform over 4,000 procedures. The cases typically seen are cardiac catheterizations, PTCAs, stents, insertion of IABPs, insertion of temporary and permanent pacemakers, peripheral angiography, and renal stent . The Electrophysiology lab has 2 rooms. In 2007 the EP Lab is expected to perform just over 4,100 procedures. With a new Stereotaxis room and the Hansen Robot, the second installed nationwide. the EP Lab performs all levels of Invasive electrophysiology. Some of the procedures performed in the lab include EP mapping, A-Fib, A-Tach, A-Flutter, SVT, PVC, WPW, and IST ablations. Intra-cardiac echo is used on many of our procedures for visualization and location. Implants include all types of pacemakers as well as ICDs, BiV ICDs and Loop recorders. This is a full service EP Lab that is currently participating in several research studies. Experience Needed: For the Registered Nurse, formal education and licensure are required. The nurse with one year of critical care is crucial or Cath/EP lab experience. The unit will accept Registered Nurse without previous invasive cardiology experience and who are committed to developing and enhancing their skills. -Shifts available: various, the unit is a 24-hour, seven day a week department. Shifts are scheduled depending on departments needs. Shift differentials are available. Weekend plans available. Sign-on and relocation bonuses available for specific position. QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Graduation FROM an accredited school of nursing (2) Completion of or actively pursuing a BSN Degree (3) Minimum of two years specialized nursing experience applicable to the unit (4) Licensed by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners (or eligible) (5) Current Certification as BLS Healthcare Provider SALARY: Above salary scale is a national projection so it will vary depending on location. Specific information will be provided upon preliminary screening with our client.
