Job Description:
Can work from home in Northern NE or from the office in the North Shore or from the CT. office Responsible for a staff of 3 supervisors and 20 people. Must be extremely proficient in property. $1M and up claims. Establish standards, policies, programs and procedures for claim resolution and management (case reserves, loss payments, and expense management) for all property claims.
Authorize payment or assign claims payment authority, investigate and resolve complex or unusual issues for all property claims. Interact with agents, defense counsel and other sources to ensure legal compliance. Design, develop and implement product enhancements in conjunction with information resources, underwriting and actuarial staff to attract and maintain customer base and facilitate claims processing (e.g., report generation, contract enhancements, systems updates, etc.). Prepare department budget and analyze variances. Control expenses by selecting and monitoring vendors, defense counsel, independent appraisers and other resources. Manage and monitor all reinsurance activity on all property claims to protect the company from unnecessary risks. Train, develop and motivate a large group of claims specialists. Establish performance standards and monitor results to ensure an effective team.
Responsible for production service and IT results for all property claims. Manage all employee relation issues for all claims employees in Northern NE and coordinate liaison with all Northern NE agents on all claims issues.

Extensive knowledge of claims management techniques gained from experience (8 to 10 years) within the property/casualty insurance industry
* Ability to manage and motivate a large claims staff
