Job description:
Princeton Information is seeking a Network Analyst for a local insurance company located in Columbus, Ohio. The individual will participate in the support and maintenance of a Cisco-based infrastructure. The individual will work closely with an established corporate technical team to implement and administer VPNs, routers, switches and firewalls with the mission to increase user productivity, optimize costs, and reduce end-user down time.

TCP/IP core and advanced routing fundamentals
Ability to monitor and trouble shoot WAN and LAN issues
Configure, support, and trouble shoot VPN/IPSEC tunnel issues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interpret and author technical design documents
Specific Job-Related Skills:
IPSEC/VPN Tunnel Support using Cisco/Nortel
Cisco Interior and Exterior router protocols
WAN connectivity - MPLS/Frame
TCP/IP Packet analysis
Education/Experience: A Computer Science degree is helpful but not required if candidate has equivalent work experience. 6+ years of core TCP/IP fundamentals including IP routing, DHCP, DNS, VLANS, and IPSEC VPNs. CCNA/CCNP, GCFW, CISSP or other related certifications a plus.
Technical Knowledge: Highly Desired Skills: ISP connection trouble shooting, routing protocols such as HSRP, EIGRP, BGP, Firewalls and NAT, Network Management Systems such as Spectrum and Openview, understanding of the OSI model, WAN routing protocols such as Frame Relay and MPLS. Beneficial Skills: Familiarity with RADIUS, LDAP, Cisco ACS or other 3rd party AAA solutions, 802.1x, QOS, COS, VOIP, Internet content filtering such as Websense and ISA, Application and Network Services such as Alteon, Cisco CSSs and GSSs, network management and monitoring tools such as Solarwinds Orion and Cirrus, Windows and Linux OSs.
Major duties of Position:
- Install and maintain a work at home IPSEC VPN solution supporting hardware and software based clients using a wide range of internet connectivity.
- Evaluate and make recommendations as to hardware acquisitions for the local and wide area network. Upon selection, coordinate and oversee the configuration, installation, and system assurance of aforementioned equipment.
- monitor, log, and report on local and wide area network traffic trends and performance.
- Responsible for software upgrades to the network management system and for firmware upgrades to the electronic equipment in the network which includes routers, switches, hubs, etc.
- provide after hours support and system upgrades. This will include on -call duties, unplanned support calls, new installations, and upgrades.
- maintain and track time in a time reporting system.
