We are looking for Lawson consultants for the following requirements.
Technical lead:
Minimum 2 years of technical implementation experiences in M3 Java or RPG version
Knowledge and practice in M3 programming in Java (MAK) and/or RPG (MDM)

General knowledge in M3 applications

Human Resources / Payroll / Benefits functional working knowledge (e.g., administration, check processing, taxes)
Experienced with full lifecycle project implementation
Senior Technical Consultant for field technical work streams of new system implementations, upgrades, and revisions. Responsible for identifying and assessing client technical needs as well as delivering technical solutions.
Technical solutions include technical assessments, customization analysis and scoping, customization development and unit testing, technical troubleshooting (e.g., of hardware and networking infrastructure).
Candidate attributes:
o Experience with managing application and custom development initiatives
o Experience with coordinating network configurations and problem diagnostics
o Experience with Lawson full-lifecycle development and implementations including analysis, specification, development, unit and system testing, integration and parallel testing, production cut-over and on-going change management / version control
o Experience with Lawson installation and support:
** 4GL Lawson programs and CASE tools
** UNIX scripting and basic UNIX commands
** Windows server environment
** 3Rd-Party products, including BSI Tax Factory
** Lawson 9.0 knowledge a plus
o Lawson technical acumen preferred
o Lawson file structures
o Lawson interface mechanics and best practices
o LID command line
o Basic Lawson command line, e.g., mgdbdump and importdb
o Windows and Unix experience mandatory (Windows preferable)
o AS400 Lawson platform experience helpful but not required
o Effective verbal and written communication skills

Position activities:
o Interface with Velocity and client Project Managers for coordination, status reporting, issue identification, escalation and resolution
o Interface with Velocity Relationship Managers on technical attributes of client projects
o Manage to a technical project plan
o Lead Velocity, client, and sub-contractor team members according to plan
o Assist client in the analysis of the current environment and migration requirements
o Assist with the technical design of the migration
o Coordinate all development efforts for customizations and interfaces
o Apply Velocity's structured Design/Build/Run methodology for quality and repeatability
o Work with Velocity's hosting unit to coordinate all setup, validation, migration, and cut-over activities
o Facilitate knowledge transfer to the client at project end

Description
Overview:
Position will involve technical installation and support Lawson systems on either a Microsoft NT/2000 or UNIX platform. Candidate will be responsible for installation, tuning, upgrading, system maintenance, and system administration. To be effective in this role, candidate requires experience working with operating systems, hardware, local area networks, wide area networks, firewalls, and Internet security.
Position is a 100% work from home position. Occasional travel to corporate headquarters in New York City for training and team meetings is required.
Requirements:
Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience working with Lawson in a system administration role.
Candidate must have Lawson training and certification if available, in the relevant technology areas.
Candidate must have a strong understanding of UNIX and Windows operating systems.
Candidate should be familiar with Lawson security design and set-up and Lawson**s report writing tools.
Candidate should be familiar with Java technology including administering Java on web servers running servlet containers. Knowledge of IIS/Tomcat, Apache/Tomcat, and/or WebSphere is a plus
Candidate should have a strong understanding of Oracle and SQL-Server database, although certification in these areas is not required.
Responsibilities:

System availability for assigned customer systems.
System maintenance and tuning
Customer satisfaction with relation to response times, resolution time, and quality of communication.
