POSITION SUMMARY:
This position can be located in Stevens Point, Wausau, or Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
The Manager, Clinic Finance will coordinate all financial reporting and provider compensation related functions for MMG regional clinics and Anesthesia. Support for non MMG, MHC related clinics will be provided on an as requested/needed basis. Responsibilities will include coordination of monthly financial statement packages with corresponding operational analyses, metrics and benchmarking analytics, physician compensation and special projects. The Manager will work closely with other MHC Finance SSO employees including Director of Finance for Clinic Operations, the financial/budget analyst and the physician compensation analyst within the Clinic Operations SSO, as well as the Accounting Managers, Accounting Director, Planning Director and the hospital site finance directors. There is a good deal of change in the restructuring of Finance for the system, and the Manager will play a collaborative role in the transition.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead review of financials with regional clinic leadership soft and hard close
Lead review of Anesthesia financials with Anesthesia service line soft and hard close
Directs the administration of physician compensation including the compensation plan and all miscellaneous physician contractual pay arrangements, including:
Work with Director on new compensation initiatives
Field questions from providers on compensation related issues.
Supervise annual capital and operations budget completion and maintenance.
Prepares and analyzes physician data, such as production, visits, and RVU’s, and provides data to management for trending, budgeting, and reporting.
Monthly completion (provide entry to Accounting Division) and analysis of discounts and allowances for clinic operations.
Facilitate and support capital financial justification and business plans.
Provide financial analysis for new and current clinic services and initiatives, capital projects, six sigma initiatives, changes in reimbursement and impact on existing programs (in conjunction with Decision Support).
Complete and/or coordinate completion of external surveys for benchmarking.
Identify areas for regional clinic standardization.
Support productivity and financial initiatives (Sure Decisions, Visionware, etc.), in conjunction with Decision Support.
Directly supervise 2 - 3 finance professionals, but also provide for workload resource balancing support to other finance SSO divisions as operational situations arise. Responsibilities include:
o Coach staff, developing and improving their skills and abilities
o Optimize efficiency of the team, matching skill/ability to high level work product.
o Create a balanced work and home life as well as a professionally challenging work load for the clinic finance team.
o Foster a team environment with self directed individuals
Qualifications .
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in Accounting or Business required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a leadership/supervision role in accounting/finance department servicing complex multiple divisions or a system.
Experience: Health Care experience preferred
Experience: Physician/provider compensation experience preferred.
Certification: CPA Certification preferred
Knowledge: Must have general ledger and budget system expertise.
Knowledge: Must have strong excel expertise.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position has physical requirements that require a full range of body motion including, but not limited to, physically assisting patients, requiring stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling, manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Vision and hearing must be correctable to the normal range. Work may be performed in a medical office environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to the clinic environment.
