Hach Company is seeking an entry level Field Service Technician I who will provide repair and preventative maintenance services for all Hach equipment at the customer site in the Boston MA, New Hampshire, and Connecticut area. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently from a home office. Hach offers a competitive salary and benefits package along with opportunity for career advancement.
Key Responsibilities
· Uses established ISO work instructions to provide repair and preventative maintenance services for all Hach equipment.
· Works cooperatively with Service team and field sales staff to promote customer satisfaction.
· Works at the direction of the Territory Manager.
· Provides technical support for customers while on site and while traveling.
· Actively promotes contractual service agreements and upgrade purchases of new equipment.
· Determines the amount to bill customer within a framework of charges.
· Submits prompt and accurate service and expense reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, workload and profitability.
· Ability to work independently and prioritize work.
· Ability to safely lift and carry up to 70 lbs on industrial catwalks and stairways.
· Ability to safely work in awkward or cramped environments.
· Ability to work safely around electrical and mechanical hazards.

The Field Service Associate reports directly to the Territory Manager.

Desired Background and Skill Requirements
· Customer interaction skills.
· Proven ability with Microsoft Suite of products
· Must have a valid driver’s license and an MVR review that satisfies Hach Company vehicle policy guidelines.
· Ability to travel 4 nights/5 days per week.
· Two-year technical degree in electronics or equivalent experience.
· Proficient with commonly used electronic test equipment (such as digital volt meters)
· Mechanical aptitude
· Ability to work independently and prioritize work.
· Ability to safely lift and carry up to 70 lbs on industrial catwalks and stairways.
· Ability to safely work in awkward or cramped environments.
· Ability to work safely around electrical and mechanical hazards.

Pre-Employment Testing
External hiring into this position is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check including MVR and possible credit history review. Also required to submit to drug tests as customer requirements dictate, since many are federal contractors or security sensitive sites. (This may be waived for international positions where this requirement conflicts legally.
