Job description:
Field Engineer - live in North Carolina or similar area on east coast - work from home and service south east accounts from major, international airport within 20 minutes of your home.
Responsibilities
Work from your home in North Carolina or vicinity or east coast and travel to customer sites on east coast (This position is NOT at Headquarters in Carlsbad) to perform installation, training and servicing of PC Hardware and software systems used as medical devices. Upon completion of installation, continue to provide ongoing support as questions and problems arise at customer sites. Work with other engineering and software personnel as required to support design, integration and testing efforts.
Other duties include:
*Perform system acceptance test and final production check procedures
*Coordinate customer installation plans. Travel to customer sites to install systems and train customers
*Provide second-level engineering support to our Technical Support staff
*Update applicable Quality System procedures
*Participate in Company Technical Certification training program
Required Qualifications
*Strong experience working with CPU driven medical devices and medical software of some kind. Experience must include installation, training and after sale support.
*Very Good interpersonal skills. Able to deal directly with customers by phone, e-mail, and in person. Comfortable acting as a company representative.
*Success working in a process-driven Quality environment
*Familiarity with mechanical drawings and machine shop procedures
*Programming or software testing skills a plus
*Travel 50% - 60%
Preferred Qualifications
*BA / BS in engineering or a related field a plus
*Working knowledge of pathology
*Anatomic pathology laboratory experience
*3-5 Years work experience in an engineering environment
