Three Position Available - Northeast, Southeast and Great Lakes
National Wildlife Federation, Americas conservation organization passionate about protecting wildlife for our childrens future, is seeking three dynamic and dedicated individuals to join its seven person major gifts team and serve as Directors of Development. NWF has regional offices in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Montpelier, Vermont and Atlanta, Georgia. Preference is for the Directors to work from a home office within a metropolitan area within the region.
The Director will:
· Solicit and steward existing NWF donors as well as identify and assess new individuals and organizations that can make outright gifts at the $10,000 plus level.
· Coordinate their own and senior staff fundraising trips throughout the region.
· Qualify and cultivate key prospects through a strategic program of personal communications and events.
· Develop and communicate to donors a thorough understanding of NWFs conservation and education programs and projects of special interest.
· Maintain familiarity with current local, regional, and national environmental issues.
· Personally acknowledge appropriate gifts from donors and maintain hard files and electronic donor files.
Qualifications:
· seven years experience in fundraising or related field with an emphasis on major gift cultivation and solicitation.
· college degree
· ability to work well with a wide range of individuals
· excellent oral and written communication skills
· personal commitment to NWFs mission and ability to articulate that commitment
· working knowledge of Windows environment and experience and/or aptitude to learn Word and Raisers Edge
· ability to travel extensively (up to eight days per month).

· Southeast region (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands)
· Great Lakes region (Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio).
