DB2 DBA/Database Developer - Industry Leading Company!
Are you looking for an opportunity with a top industry leader where your talents can be exemplified? We are currently seeking a highly-experienced DB2 DBA/Database Developer for high-profile project. This professional will work with other disciplines for the implementation of analytical and technical solutions. This is a long term contract (2-3+ years) as well as a partial work from home opportunity!
DB2 DBA/Database Developer
Responsibilities:
Database Developer will work with other disciplines (Program Management, Test Team, Technical Operations, other Software Development Engineers, and various business owners) in implementation of analytical and technical solutions
Review project plans, development and test specifications; communicating implementation limitations; and data-driven solutions with all levels of project team and management
Performing logical and physical data modeling as well as assessing business rules
Setting up permissions, backups, mirroring, and synchronization
Analytics, research and calculation of data, and creation of tables
Implementing physical database objects, managing data, building/extending toolsets, document and maintain business rules and implementation specifics within the data model
Developing optimized stored procedures to solve complex problems
Tune databases and systems for peak performance
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of professional database modeling, design, and development
Thorough experience with DB2
Experience with Cache is a huge plus
Experience with job scripting and scheduling technologies, such as Perl, VBScript, SQL Agent and DOS command is a plus
Knowledge of client/server and/or Internet technologies such as Java also a plus
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline preferred
Excellent communication skills
