Ruby on Rails Web Developer - Telecommuting is acceptable.
Based in Needham, MA, we are a fast growing internet/online services organization with sales growing exponentially each year. Due to massive growth for our services, we are currently recruiting for a talented Web Developer that possesses strong experience with Ruby On Rails to work with our team in creating mission critical web applications for both internal and public usage.. We have a massive internet presence in the online community and we expect that you will love working here especially because we work with very cutting edge Open-Source technologies, not to mention that we compensate very well for strong performers.
Responsibilities:
Develop next-generation public facing web applications built with Ruby on Rails. Responsible for mission critical systems.
Must Have Skills:
1.) Strong experience developing web application using the Ruby On Rails (RoR) framework with operational examples of prior work.
2.) Strong understanding of MySQL 4.1 and beyond (5.0 is preferred).
3.) Background in developing for GNU/Linux or Unix-like platforms for mission-critical production deployments
4.) Operational code published and still in production.
5.) BS degree in Computer Science or related. Masters Degree is a plus.
Nice to Have Skills:
~Object oriented programming experience in PHP with operational examples of prior work.
~Experience with MySQL 5.x, MySQL replication, MySQL Cluster.
~High-availability and scalable network service deployment.
~Expertise with MVC, HTML, CSS2, Javascript, AJAX, Templating, caching, sessions, and authentication.
~GNU/Linux optimization, security and network administration
~Experience with running Apache or other unix-based web servers in a production environment
