Job Description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiate competitive rates with providers, provider groups and Hospitals for effective cost savings utilizing established AWCA guidelines. Actively participate in all staff and network development planning meetings.
Build and maintain excellent working relationships with all internal and external constituents. ( Internal includes physician negotiators, re-pricing unit, reporting staff, MEU staff, peers, manager and cross-functional Aetna staff required to perform the job successfully. External includes all provider types, state regulators, consultants, etc).
Together with Senior Network Manager and network Manager for the region, provide education and clear communication to Health Care Delivery constituents on AWCA network development activities
Attend regular meetings with HCD as required
Provide out-of-the box thinking and recommendations for ongoing process improvements.
Provide management with consistent feedback on marketplace issues with recommendations to address such issues.
Ensure all regulatory requirements are met by assisting with the ongoing monitoring and communication with Compliance.
Assist in completion of State reviews and documents regulatory requirements for network development as required.
SKILL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Comprehensive understanding of physician, physician groups, and ancillary provider reimbursement, including workers compensation reimbursement
Knowledge of managed care business, regulatory/legal requirements, products, programs, strategy and objectives.
Solid Negotiating Skills
Experience preferred in negotiating Workers Compensation contracts
Ability to work independently, identify priorities, meet deadlines in a fact paced, highly dynamic environment
Bachelor's Degree required. MBA/Masters degree preferred
ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
This position may be Work At Home with responsibility in the Northeast Region. Candidate must live in the Northeast.
