LiveWorld is looking for an experienced and innovative UI software
engineer with related Java skills.
LiveWorld is:
- Profitable

most days. Must be able to commute to office at least twice a week.)

LiveWorld customers include major media, consumer and online companies
including AOL, A&E, Discovery Channel, eBay, Dove, HBO, Intuit, MINI
Cooper, QVC, TV Guide, MTV, Campbells, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Organize, design, develop and implement web application UI, layouts,
styles and associated templates using HTML/CSS/JavaScript/JSP/Java
(and occasionally Flash)
- As we refine our UI &design strategy with a view to giving our
clients more control, assist in the design and development of
easy-to-use back end design and layout tools
- Implement client specified look and feel on community products
- Develop UI display and control components
- Develop and implement standalone web sites with hooks into our
community products
Qualified candidates will have:
- A strong sense of UI and general design principles
- Excellent HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills
- Working knowledge of tag based skins such as JSP
- Working knowledge of flash a plus
- Knowledge of other Java presentation layer technologies such as
Velocity or FreeMarker would be an asset
- Working knowledge of AJAX related technologies an advantage
- Productive (looking at people who get projects done in hours, days and
weeks, not weeks days and years)
- Capable of Working Independently and with small teams
- Organized
- Minimum 3 years experience as a software engineer with a UI emphasis
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Can work in U.S. legally
- B.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent), M.S. desirable
- We are a semi-virtual (A small office but flexibility to work at home .
Must be able to commute to the office (San Jose) at least twice a
week)
