To ensure quality assurance methodologies and procedures are designed, implemented, and consistently applied.
Champion quality initiative implementations originating from client s corporate Quality Management organization throughout SQM and IT.
Design and implement metrics used to monitor software quality (e.g., functionality, reliability, maintainability, usability), forecast potential problematic areas with software development, and determine the most appropriate time to suspend testing until resolutions are fully implemented.
To ensure organization s methodologies are followed for all internal projects.
To ensure all issues of noncompliance not resolved within the software project team are addressed in a timely manner by senior management.
To ensure consistency is maintained across all software work products.
To ensure SQM personnel participate in, and lead, formal requirement creation, design, code, and test plan peer reviews.
Seek continuous improvement for all processes supporting the software development life cycle.
Ensure software release readiness through assessments
Accountabilities:
Ensures the delivery of all SQM related project documents, test plans, schedules including milestones and deliverables as expected from SQM and as requested by project managers.
Monitors process performance (e.g., SDLC, Testing, etc.) and recommends process improvement actions aimed at elevating product quality across the entire organization.
Mentors staff, foster team participation, provides team leadership, and seeks continuous improvement in all aspects of team dynamics.
Applies creative thinking techniques as means of stimulating new ideas and opportunities for improvement.
Reports status of all SQM activities on a regular basis.
Develops SQM process improvement presentations for senior management.
Remains current on software quality best practices and industry trends in quality assurance. This is accomplished via internet research, books, periodicals, training, and membership in SQA organizations.
Designs, implements, and supports all metrics used to assess the level of quality in software being released.
Conducts assessments to ensure software release readiness

Must be able to travel to the Houston, TX location and work 8am to 5pm Mon thru Friday.
Minimum undergraduate degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related business field REQUIRED
6-8 years of software quality experience REQUIRED
3-5 years project management experience REQUIRED
Strong leadership, quality assurance, analytical, and problem solving skills.
SPC (Statistical Process Control).
Effectively uses quality tools such as: pareto charts, root cause analysis, trend analysis, etc. to enhance software quality.
Effective communication (verbal and written) skills.
Effectively expresses ideas relating to software quality.
Communicates software quality assurance issues to project manager and project team.
Makes effective group presentations or announcements.
Can deliver good and bad news.
Proficient in Microsoft Desktop tools including Microsoft Project
Knowledge of the software development life cycle REQUIRED
Knowledge of software quality assurance principles.
Knowledge of structured software testing methodologies.
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and/or other measurement analysis techniques used to assess software product quality.
Knowledge of software development environments
